Are you an artist?
Have you ever sold a painting but wished you had kept it for
yourself? Would you like to be able to sell copies of your best work or give
copies as gifts to family and friend? Giclée printing now makes this possible,
eliminating the need for expensive long print runs.
What is Giclée
printing?
Giclée
printing is the process of making fine art prints from a digital source,
using inkjet printing. A high quality scan is made from the original artwork,
then printed onto inkjet paper using lightfast inks. Once the image has been scanned and saved, prints can be
produced as and when required. Giclée prints can be of superbly high quality,
depending on the equipment and paper used. Colours can be vividly and accurately
reproduced and even minute detail can be captured. Quality inkjet papers are now
available, many of them being slightly textured, to create an even more
realistic effect.
Our service
Being an artist myself, I understand the importance of reproducing artwork as
accurately as possible. I have been producing prints from my my own watercolour
paintings for 7 years. Practice, experience and familiarity with my equipment
now enables
me to achieve high quality detailed prints displaying colours which accurately match
the original artwork.
Artwork is scanned at 400dpi. Watercolour and acrylic artwork are particularly
suitable. Images are then printed onto 310gsm Hahnemühle 'German Etching' watercolour
inkjet paper, which has an attractive textured surface. Printing is carried out on a photo quality A3+
printer.
All we require is your original
artwork, which is then directly scanned. Digital photographs of artwork do not
give satisfactory results. The artwork must be flat and no larger than A3.
The finished prints can either be the same size
as the artwork or smaller - in fact you can choose the size and quantity that
you would like. You may only decide to have one or two prints to start
with, but you may order more as and when you would like them. We will send you a CD with the scanned file on
it and will keep a
copy of the image on file, unless you ask us not to. We keep a copy of your
image purely to fulfil any further orders and absolutely guarantee the
integrity of your copyright.
